Javier Colmen is a film and video game composer from Madrid (Spain). He developed his musicality during his early teens, singing in rock and metal local bands in his hometown. He earned a double major in Math & Computer Engineering and he started his career as a data scientist in a multinational company.

At the age of 24, he moved to São Paulo (Brazil) to collaborate in several high budget statistical projects where he would fall in love with Jazz and Brazilian music. After a period of reflection, he finally decided to pursue his musical dream and left his job to fully dedicate to his music. He earned a scholarship in Souza Lima Conservatorio de Musica, where he studied with renowned musicians in the Brazilian scene like Daniel D'Alcantara, Rodrigo Ursaia, Cynthia Borgani, Victor D'Alcantara among others.

In 2016 he received another scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied a double major in Film Scoring & Voice Performance, with a minor in Video Game Scoring. In 2018 he received the Alf Clausen Award given by the Film Scoring Department at Berklee, for outstanding achievements in composition. Other highlights at Berklee include performances with international artists like Fernando Manzanero or singing in the Boston Symphony Hall as a member of the choir for the Symphony of The Lord Of The Rings, in front of more than 1000 people, including the composer Howard Shore.

In 2018, he finally moved to Los Angeles where he has been collaborating with several producers, writing music for short films and indie video games, and producing and performing in the first album with Prog Rock band Nodus.
